March 2012 Monthly Meeting

Caregiver Connections

Mandy joined the agency in 2008. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and holds a Master's of Science in Clinical Psychology degree from Benedictine University. As an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant with the Caregiver Connections program, Mandy helps child care providers recognize, understand and respond to the social and emotional needs of the children, birth though age five, in their care. Mandy works with both licensed and unlicensed child care facilities in DuPage and Kane Counties.
 
As far as the training:
We will be exploring stress and the effects it has on the body.  We will also be determining ways to manage one's stress as well as how to incorporate yoga in the classroom!
 Have everyone dress comfortable and bring a mat or towel for the yoga portion.  I will do a wide range of poses so that all are able to participate if they would like.  The last 5 minutes involves a deep breathing that is done laying down which is why the mat/towel is helpful.
