Here is a bit about our speaker!
Natalie Farmer is a mother of five. She is an Early Intervention Credentialed Developmental Therapist and certified Infant Massage therapist that uses play therapy and behavior modification techniques combined with parent involvement to achieve the most beneficial results with the families that she works with. Natalie is the owner of Jump Start Development Inc. Jump Start provides Developmental therapy services to families in the Chicagoland area and also offers EI professional development workshops. She has experience working as a service coordinator for Child and Family Connections and trainer for the Illinois EI Training program. Since the death of one of her sons in 2003 from SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), Natalie has worked closely with SIDS of Illinois and CJ Foundation for SIDS increasing awareness, supporting research projects and providing training and education on how to lower the risk for SIDS both on a local and national level. Some of the workshops provided for EI approved hours are “Safe Crib/Safe Sleep for Babies”, “What’s New in Safe Sleep and SIDS research”, “The Importance of Supervised Tummy Time for the Development for Baby”, “Children Grieve Too!”, “If There is no “I” in “Team” what about Independent Providers”.
