overweight or obese, the child care community is an essential ally in
the effort to prevent childhood obesity, support children’s healthy
development, and prevent the occurrence of later chronic disease.

States are competing nationally and will be recognized in two areas:
•        Highest percentage of licensed programs that sign up as Let’s
Move! Child Care participants

Stores nationwide will hold their “Great Trade-In” event from now through Sunday, September 18th.  Customers are encouraged to trade-in used cribs, car seats, bassinets, strollers, travel systems, play yards, high chairs, walkers, swings, bouncers, entertainers or kids’ beds in exchange for a 25% savings on the purchase of any new baby item.  The purpose of the “Great Trade-In” national safety program is to draw attention to the fact that certain baby products, such as cribs and car seats, are still in circulation but can carry potential hazards and should not be handed down or resold.  Some products have been the focus of recalls, and other older and used baby items are potentially unsafe for reasons including damage or lack of compliance with recent advances in product safety standards.
