Russia’s war against Ukraine annihilates everything. It’s not only a genocide of Ukrainian people, but also an attempt to erase Ukrainian culture and an ecocide against the environment. Join us on May 17 for first-hand accounts of Ukrainians’ inspiring battle to preserve their lives, their heritage, and their rich, beautiful, sustainable environment.

Svidok.org is Ukraine’s National War Archive, together with Ukraine’s Ministry of Culture. It’s a place where Ukrainians can share their stories for the world to see.

On May 17th, join us for a special event co-organized by the AI for Good Foundation and the MIT Ukrainian Folk Dance Ensemble, hosted at the Walker Memorial. The evening includes:

  1. An exhibit of Ukrainians’ stories from Svidok;
  2. Addresses from two key Ukrainian Ministries: the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of the Environment;
  3. A special dance performance by the MIT Ukrainian Folk Dance Ensemble;
  4. A three-course banquet dinner with delicious Ukrainian specialties, offering opportunities for one-on-one conversations with cultural leaders;
  5. A showcase and silent auction of traditional and modern artwork and tapestries, with many of the pieces completed during the war by leading Ukrainian artists.

The suggested entrance donations cover the costs of organizing and catering the event and are considered tax deductible donations to the AI for Good Foundation (81-1631000). Any further donations and proceeds from auctions will be used exclusively to provide medical aid for Ukraine’s frontline defenders and support our cultural preservation programs in Ukraine.
