The Icons on Ammo Boxes. Sofiia Atlantova and Oleksandr Klymenko

Starting on June 3, 2023, we will be hosting an exhibition of icons by the Ukrainian artists Sofiia Atlantova and Oleksandr Klymenko.
Icons on Ammo Boxes is a conceptual project that Atlantova and Kkymenko launched in 2014. The icons are painted on fragments from ammunition boxes from the war zones in Ukraine and serve as silent war witnesses as well as symbols of the victory of life over death.

The Icons on Ammo Boxes project has been exhibited at over 50 locations in 25 cities on both sides of the Atlantic. The project is the main sponsor of the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital (PFVMH) which has been providing medical assistance to over 50,000 patients in the war zone in Eastern Ukraine since 2014.

All donations and proceeds from the sale of the icons will go to benefit the new project #ПроектАйболить which provides transportation for wounded servicemen and war disabled.
