 ming Saturday - April 29\, 2023\, at 5:00 PM in the Leverett House Library
  Theatre - 28 Dewolfe Street\, Cambridge\, MA 02138.\nJurij Fedynskyj will
  present:\n- unique national instruments of Ukraine: the traditional\ntorb
 an\, bandura\, and kobza\,\n- a prayer service of traditional Ukrainian sa
 cred songs\, epic psalms\, historic songs\, folklore\, as well as related 
 genres\,\n- a lecture about the heart and history of Ukraine\, through her
  greatest poets\, statesmen\, and blind singers\,\n- a demonstration of wh
 at a traditional kobzar might be today!\nJurij Fedynskiy is a Ukrainian-Am
 erican composer\, torbanist\, bandurist and singer-songwriter\, producer\,
  bandleader\, luthier\, cultural activist\, and pedagogue. Jurij is a Kobz
 ar folk singer\, a keeper\, and a cherisher of a once-lost Ukrainian tradi
 tion and folklore. This kobzar tradition was completely destroyed by 1933\
 , through mass executions and starvation of all kobzars by Russia. Today\,
  for Jurij it is important to save what’s left before it disappears fore
 ver.\nFor the first time in 100 years\, the traditional torban\, kobza\, a
 nd bandura will be heard worldwide\, as part of Jurij’s worldwide tour -
  Kobzaring the World!\nAdmission is FREE\, and any donations and CD sales 
 go to purchasing and directly delivering supplies to the Ukrainian defende
 rs on the Eastern front\, and to funding the Poltava Kobzar Guild's tours 
 of the front and mission to revive Ukraine through reviving the kobzar tra
 dition
