Joel Wasserman, A15, and Kateryna Sporysh live in Lviv, Ukraine and run a small humanitarian organization called Katya’s Medicine, which delivers critical medications to civilians in need across Ukraine’s front line. Joel is a translator, editor, and country specialist who has lived in Ukraine since 2018. Kateryna, from Kyiv, is a former journalist with Ukraine’s top business publications who directs Katya’s Medicine as well as a water filter distribution program for the American NGO For Peace. Together, they will be speaking about their family’s story, life in wartime Ukraine, and the ecosystem of volunteers and organizations who have sustained Ukraine’s defense and kept the people in its frontline communities alive.

This event is organized by the International Relations Program at Tufts University and co-sponsored by the Ukrainian Research Institute at Harvard University.
