Learn to create beautiful traditional Ukrainian Easter

Eggs from Ukrainian artisans! The colorful art of creating elaborately decorated eggs is probably at least 1000 years old. These small masterpieces are made in Ukrainian homes each Easter and preserved for many years.

Their Ukrainian name “Pysanka” comes from the word “to write”: the designs are not painted but drawn and written on the eggshells with a combination of colorful dye and hot wax.

Sounds difficult, doesn’t it? As a matter of fact, it is not. Once you know the secrets of this ancient art you can easily master it in an hour. The combination of your creativity and this simple but stunning technique will allow you to produce a unique piece of art.
