Join us for “Vines and Threads” – an intimate evening at The Hope Club in Providence, RI aimed at supporting Ukrainian strength and resilience while being inspired by the country’s wine, food and culture.

VINES – Artwinery, a Bakhmut winery with a centuries-long history and tradition of cultivation and production. The region is currently embroiled in brutal trench warfare while the winery’s millions of bottles of sparkling wine age deep underground in 60 acres of gypsum caves.

THREADS – The dazzling embroidery of the blouses and garments worn by displaced Ukrainian women and girls, who have formed a choir in Germany, are captured by Ukrainian photographer, Ksenia Lisna. The resilience and beauty of her kinswomen are portrayed through the captivating use of composition and natural elements. Here, we are given a privileged view of the life-affirming role that art and music can play in times of war and conflict.

Start the evening by tasting Chef Tim Hill’s Ukrainian hors d’oeuvres as well as Ukrainian food and caviar stations paired with the last bottles of Artwinery’s fine sparkling wines available in the U.S. and finely crafted cocktails based on Herbesco‘s hand-infused cherry and pickle vodkas while viewing an exhibition of Ksenia Lisna’s haunting and thought-provoking work.

Proceed to the ballroom for an engaging discussion with panelists, Dr. Volodymyr Dubovyk, Dr. Roman Hayda, and Jay Rumas. Marking the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, guest speakers will share firsthand experiences, inspire a deeper understanding of recent developments and honor the resolute spirit of Ukraine.

The evening ends with a Ukrainian dessert and wine reception, featuring famous Ukrainian chocolates from AVK Confectionary flown in especially for the evening, Kyiv torte and Napoleon desserts, and Ukrainian Muscat wine from the Koblevo winery in Odesa.

silent auction, including wines that are the last of their kind in the world, will raise money for two important initiatives in support of Ukraine:

• Ukrainian Wine Charitable Foundation and Artwinery workers as they gather in a secret location to hand package evacuated wines from Bakhmut to export to the U.S.

• Liberty Ukraine’s Made-in-Ukraine project providing thermal clothing for soldiers defending Bakhmut and the treasured millions of bottles of wines aging underground
